Hi All,
My first useful post of 2013. This post is coming after 4 years. Been completely inactive on the blog circuit for quite some time now. But no more will be blogging regularly now. Just like some use twitter will kind of make this space my customized twitter account :).
So back to the main topic of this blog. Internet sharing on windows mobile.
I recently bought myself a new winodws mobile Nokia Lumia 620. I had a android 2.2 phone for almost 2 years now (i know its really old version :)) and after using android wanted to shift to something new and cool.
Initially had plans to buy IPhone but it was too expensive in the Indian markets so ultimately decided aggainst it.
As for my andorid mobile the coolest feature was wireless tethering. So wanted my new phone to also include that. Since Nokia Lumia 620 with windows 8 had this feature i went ahead and bought it.
But to my disappointment when i tried using the internet sharing feature on my Nokia lumia 620 my ipod used to get connected to the wifi but used to not connect to the internet. Was very disappointed as this was a cool technology i couldn't use it for some reason. So started my googling for a probable solution. Unfortunately the first day no solution.
The next day i tried to google again and i thought of a solution and decided to try it. When you switch on your Nokia lumia mobile with the sim it creates a access point itself. Unfortunately that is the problem and also this access point cannot be edited. So the solution for this is to create a new access point the one which the service provider provides you with in a sms (Please note this is for Idea cellular that i used it).

Also note internet sharing only works for 3G services. 2G services cannot be shared via internet.
EDIT: Please do not forget to change the Data type to LTE for Default.
Then go ahead and activate this access point and share your internet connection and it works fine this time.
P.S. This is for Idea Cellular network that i tried it for. Please contact your service provide for other cellular services.
Please do leave comments if this post has helped you.
THANKS!!!!!!!!!!
